COVID-19 Update

Visitor Restrictions update from 20 January 2022

Dear family members,

As advised, Drysdale Grove currently has an outbreak of COVID-19. The last case was detected on 19th January, 2022. Since initially advising of the outbreak, we have had a number of staff and residents that have tested positive with COVID -19. Of those residents and staff that have tested positive the majority have had their booster vaccinations and been asymptomatic with little symptoms subsequent to returning the positive test.

Drysdale Grove management have measures in place in order to contain this virus. Management alongside staff’s focus is to ensure that we contain this virus, and all residents/staff are safe and kept well informed, alongside family members. We can assure you we are solely focused on your loved ones needs. Lifestyle coordinators focus is to provide one on one emotional and psychological support.

We are in regular contact with governing bodies including the local Public Health Unit, Department of Health and Human Services and WorkSafe. We also have a supportive network of GPs and local health care services to support the needs of the residents.

Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT)

Testing and ongoing actions for our residents are in line with the communicable diseases network Australia (CDMA) National Guidelines. RATs are completed with consumers on a regular basis and consumers are monitored for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 ongoing.

All staff are tested prior to commencement of work. Those that are positive are sent home or isolating at home. RATs are conducted onsite for screening staff and residents alongside other screening practices such as monitoring for symptoms and not attending work if unwell.

If visitors, staff or residents return a positive test, we follow the local guidelines.

Booster Vaccinations

All staff and consumers are encouraged to have their booster vaccination. Despite the current outbreak, scheduled vaccination clinics will continue until all that are eligible have received their booster vaccination.
